Prerequisites

Before starting, make sure you have:

1. Login to Just My Socks Dashboard

Visit Just My Socks Official Website and login with your registered email and password.

2. Access Service Details

  • Click “Services” → “My Services” in the top menu
  • Find your purchased plan (status should be Active)
  • Click to enter the service details page

In the service details page, find the “Subscription Link” section:

Step 2: Download Clash for Windows

1. Visit Official GitHub Page

Open your browser and visit:

2. Download Installer

  1. Find the latest version (Latest)
  2. In the Assets section, download the version for your system:

Step 3: Import Subscription

1. Open Clash for Windows

First launch will show the main interface with menu on the left.

2. Add Subscription

  1. Click “Profiles” in the left menu

Step 4: Connect and Test

1. Enable System Proxy

  1. Click “General” in the left menu
  2. Find “System Proxy”
  3. Toggle the switch to “On” (green)

✅ Success Indicator: Clash icon in the taskbar (bottom right) will turn colored, indicating proxy is active.

2. Select a Node

  1. Click “Proxies” in the left menu
  2. Find the “GLOBAL” or “Proxy” group
  3. Click the “speed test” icon (⚡) to test all nodes
  4. Select the node with lowest latency (click node name)

  • US Los Angeles - 1 (120ms)
  • US Los Angeles - 2 (135ms)
  • US Los Angeles - 3 (150ms)
  • …

💡 Latency Guide:

  • < 150ms: Excellent ✅
  • 150-250ms: Good 👌

  • 250ms: Average ⚠️

3. Verify Connection

Testing:

  1. Open browser (Chrome, Edge, etc.)
  2. Visit Google
  3. If it loads normally, configuration is successful ✅

Speed Test:

  1. Visit YouTube
  2. Play a 4K video
  3. If it loads instantly and plays smoothly, speed is good ✅

Step 5: Optimize Settings (Optional)

1. Configure Proxy Mode

Clash supports multiple proxy modes:

  1. On “General” page, find “Mode”

2. Start with Windows

  3. Clash will auto-start when you boot your PC

3. Auto-Update Subscription

  1. On “Profiles” page
  2. Find the ”⋮” menu next to your config
  3. Click “Update Interval”
  4. Set auto-update time (recommend 24 hours)

Troubleshooting

❓ Cannot Connect / Connection Timeout

Possible Causes:

  1. Expired or incorrect subscription link
  2. Node IP is blocked
  3. Firewall blocking
  4. Port conflict

Solutions:

  1. Update config: On “Profiles” page, click the refresh icon
  2. Switch nodes: Try other nodes with lower latency
  3. Check firewall: Allow Clash through Windows Firewall
  4. Restart Clash: Fully exit and reopen
  5. Wait for auto IP replacement: Just My Socks auto-detects and replaces blocked IPs (5-10 minutes)

❓ Slow Speed / High Latency

Solutions:

  1. Switch nodes: Choose one with lower latency
  2. Try Global mode: Switch to “Global” mode
  3. Close unnecessary programs: Free up bandwidth
  4. Check local network: Ensure stable connection
  5. Avoid peak hours: 8-11 PM might be slower
  6. Upgrade plan: Consider LA 1000 or another dedicated-line plan (check with support first to confirm the route)

❓ Some Apps Can’t Use Proxy

Reason: Some apps don’t support system proxy

Solutions:

  1. Enable TUN mode: Can proxy all applications
  2. Configure app proxy: Manually set proxy in app settings
    • Proxy address: 127.0.0.1
    • Port: 7890 (default, check in Clash settings)
